aql voip service

The advantage of using a VoIP service such as aql, is that we are continually improving our service and adding new functionality.

Because all this functionality exists on our systems and not on your phone, there are no added costs for extra services as we roll them out.

Currently, your aql VoIP account will allow:

• PC to PC (or ip-phone to ip-phone) calls for free
• PC to Landline at low cost
• Landline to PC

If you do not answer your phone or do not have it plugged in, your call will forward to voicemail.

Voicemail

Dial 500 from your VoIP phone (or 08713123500 from any other phone) to access the voicemail setup. At the "mailbox" voice prompt, enter your username. At the password voice prompt, enter your 5 figure passcode.

You will then hear a choice of menus for listening to voicemail messages and recording a new message.

When someone leaves you a voicemail message, we also send you a copy of the voicemail message as a .wav soundfile to your email address.

Other Services

• Speaking Clock - this is free of charge and available at 123.
• "tellme" portal - this is a US based portal and useful for testing the setup of your VoIP phone. Try "blackjack" on the "entertainment" menu.

SIP Peering

If you want to call a user at another VoIP provider, you can either dial them longhand - ie. sip:username@sipprovider or you can use one of the handy short dials. To do this you would type the VoIP transfer number (674), then the VoIP providers short dial, followed by the username. The short dials are based on the keypad equivalent of the first 3 letters of the provider number - eg. fwd.pulver would be fwd = 393.
